Streaming Thunder 102 fm makes an impact

Recently, Thunder 102 fm began streaming online (http://www.thunder102.com/listen/). I have to tell you, I've really been enjoying the radio personalities there, as well as the caring community members who call in. And did I mention funnnnnnny?

I've been listening to the conversations about ThunderBlast and how businesses and individuals are participating in different ways to support children during the holiday season. I once heard someone say that Christmas is about giving Love, because we were given the gift of perfect love. Often during the course of an order, I have email conversations with customers from the Sullivan area and continue to be amazed at how big their hearts are, at any given time.

If you will be near the Monticello Gaming and Raceway this Saturday, I humbly suggest that you get your "Jingle Bell Rock" on at ThunderBlast. I certainly would.

NEW! Leave a Love Note on the site

We've created a special community where you can express yourself. It's the place for love notes. You can let others know how you feel about them, thank them for their kindness and so on. Join, leave a message and invite others to see what you've written for them.

Interactive greeting bear helps Military Families stay connected

We live in a global world where we are often separated from those we love the most. Separated by geography and time.

By creating an interactive experience unique to each customer, Bear My Heart greeting bears allow loved ones to create a presence, even when they aren't physically available. Each greeting bear speaks in its designer's voice, displays their photo, image or text message and is embellished with Swarovski crystals and glitter. Its trendy bows and unique colors make it fashion savvy. This is quickly becoming the world's first designer teddy bear.

The bears can be personalized with a photo or special fabric that can display a handwritten message or artwork by special markers included. The artistic personalization feature allows individuals to be as creative as their imaginations allow. Pressing the bear's tummy allows individuals to hear necessary messages that increase confidence or reinforce information children need to learn. It is said that children retain information that they hear from those they respect. Because the bears represent someone specific, children can pretend that the bears are specific people or characters when they play. The bears foster a sense of security for children, inspire creativity, promote the child play experience and help with language development. The bear grows with the child from a comfort piece to an educational tool.

This is not your average bear. Receiving a bear this representative of someone special allows families to feel that person's presence, even they they can't physically be there. These bears are as special to the person giving them as they are to the recipient. That make a perfect gift for children and adults, college students, families and military personnel abroad. Great for any occasion. For more information, visit, http://www.bearmyheart.com/.

How are you?

Hugs...

"How are you?" Many of us ask this question upon initiating a conversation or in response to someone else's greeting. I happened to notice one day that we seldom wait for the response. It just seems to be the "conversation routine."

Having had this brought to your attention, actually wait for someone to tell you how they are doing before you proceed. I'll go first; how are you?

Positively speaking

Some people have a way of lifting people's spirit. We love to be around people like that. But what about the power we have to determine our own situations. It is said that we, ourselves, are our own worst enemy. How do you think positively? What do you do when you're down and out?

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

-Winston Churchill

Friends Day

September 21st is Friends Day.

Most of us have friends that we've known forever, childhood, college, church, work... You share experiences together, confide in each other, laugh, console. But thanks to the Internet, how many of us have become friends with someone we've never even met? Is it possible? Whatever the case, take the time to send a message to those special people in your life. However you feel led to express your gratitude, this moment is the perfect time for it.

Remember to Bear Your Heart in a special way.

Lou Bear on schedule!!!

You've been asking and I have news. The Lou Bear is on scheduled to arrive soon! I'll have an "approximate" date soon. Get your hearts ready for giving and helping children who really need your help! More Lou Bear info can be found on www.bearmyheart.com/loubear.html.

I bear my heart

Today, and everyday, I bear my heart for the sake of bearing my heart expecting nothing in return. I express appreciation... gratitude towards the universe, others and myself. I "do" because it is the right thing to do, not because I want something. When this is the case, always, the best is yet to come.

Better yet, I am:

grateful, content, balanced, that which I seek, love...

and more still.

Brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous...

Need energizing? Try this.

“We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does NOT serve the world. There is no-thing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the Glory of God that is within us, ALL of us. And as we let our Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our Presence automatically liberates others.”

- Nelson Mandela 1994

Strength in Reflection

This time of year is, regrettably, a time reflection for so many. Many of us remember exactly what we were doing when we heard the news of September 11th. Let us remember now to celebrate those loved ones in our lives. Let them know we care. Let us also keep a part of each person who has made a difference in our lives with us. May we all grow stronger and closer with each passing day.

STOP CALLING THEIR VOICEMAIL AND HANGING UP!

You've heard stories of the horrible break up where one person can't get over the other. They go alone to the places they used to frequent together- hoping to catch a glimpse of the ex, call the other person's friends "just to see how they're doing (uh huh), call their voicemail just to hear the person's voice- frantically hanging up before the beep...

Don't go there. Since you're happy now, you might as well design his and hers Bear My Heart greeting bears that speak in the designer's voice and display their image and text. Even though the person in the scenario would never be you and yours, why not commemorate the moment now.

Event to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Lord of the Trout invites you to a line dance

ELDRED, NY — “Lord of the Trout” Lou Monteleone, manager of the Eldred Preserve, has announced the Longest Line Dance in Sullivan County history, to be held at the preserve on Sunday, September 7.

The event will begin at 12:00 noon at Steges Lake on Steges Road between The Eldred Preserve and the hamlet of Eldred. Line-dancing experts and beginners alike are invited to come enjoy the day at the lake with music by the Carl Richards’ Band, and take advantage of free line-dancing lessons throughout the day. Picnic food, including hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage and peppers, will be available for purchase. The line dance will start at 4:00 p.m. at the waterfalls nearby Steges Lake, and end around the lake.

Registration for the event costs a $10 donation per person, which comes with a commemorative numbered bib to wear during the event. The entire donation will go to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Monteleone said he was inspired by the cross-state line dancing in the video for Alan Jackson’s song “Good Time,” and the song will be the official song of the longest line dance portion of the day. And just as in the Alan Jackson video for “Good Time,” participants are encouraged to come in their work attire or other clothing representing their company, or the community they live in. After the dance, a special tribute to those serving our country is planned.

The mission of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to cure kids’ cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowships. Monteleone has been involved with the organization for more than two years, and in 2007 even designed a Bear My Heart” teddy bear with a personalized message, specifically to benefit children battling childhood cancer.

15 inches tall, this bear is a unique mix of brown, beige and cream. Each bear includes a special space on the front for its personalized message. The Bear My Heart signature heart with Swarovski crystal embellishment and website are on the back. Unique to this bear only is an image of its designer, Lou Monteleone, along with his sincere message. The bear also includes his pre-recorded voice message. Lou Monteleone is well known in the Catskill Mountains of NY for his celebrity with Thunder 102's Sakell and Ciliberto morning radio show and his affiliation with the Eldred Preserve Resort in Sullivan County there.
